What did you like about the class? I liked how the topics and subjects we covered were actually interesting and easy to relate to, unlike most other classes. So it was fun to learn about myself and.. my life!
What was your favorite activity or project? I liked doing group projects, such as sensation/perception project. It's fun getting involved with my classmates and I really liked doing that project.
What didn't you like about the class? I didn't like how each chapter was so long and it took forever for us to review and actually cover the whole chapter.
What do you think I should leave out next year? Stepping through the sections took way too long to do, I don't even think it's worth 10 points.. even though I always did it. Haha. I think you should stick with the caag all next year! :)
Do you have any suggestions or ideas for things I could do next year in AP Psych? I think you did everything well this year! We always learned the things we needed to learn and had fun at the same time.
Do you have any suggestions or ideas for next semester in AP Econ? ..Nope.

You Can't Just Say No
I read the "Why Can't You "Just Say No" In the Heat of the Moment" article and I think it's really interesting. There are a multitude of teenagers in this generation that make dumb decisions when it comes to sex -- whether it's getting pregnant, getting an STD, or anything else. Adults are constantly trying to teach teenagers to "be smart" when it comes to sex, but is it really as easy as it sounds? The answer is no. It's proven that, under strong emotions, humans are more likely to make stupid decisions. It is said that just saying no "only works if the person walks away from the possibility of the heat of the moment long before they can be drawn in." I think that teens and young adults don't even want the possibility of experiencing sexual intercourses with a certain individual, don't even allow yourself to get into the situation when saying no is the hardest. Don't allow yourself to get sexually aroused by that person. Even if you were involved in a sexual intercourse with someone, I believe that you should always think before you do anything. For instance, statistics show that 25% of males were less likely to use a condom when they're aroused. If you're already in the "heat of the moment", it's still best to make smart decisions, such as remembering to use a condom. Emotions usually get the best of us, and if you aren't careful, you never know what could happen.

Personality Tests
For the Jung Typology Test, I was a ESFJ (Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging). I felt that this test wasn't accurate in describing me and didn't have much to do with my personality, just like a majority of the quizzes I take online. Following this, I took the Understand Yourself Test on Personality Lab. I received high scores in agreeableness, conscientiousness, and extraversion, but lower in neuroticism and openness to experience. Surprisingly, this was actually accurate and described my personality fairly well. Then, also on Personality Lab, I took the Deal With It quiz and scored the highest on pride-prone personality. Next, I took the Online Attraction Test and scored a 3.54. It told me that I like guys that are rebellious, cheerful, and trendy. I believe this is accurate to a certain degree. Last, I took the Fifth Wave Personality Assessment and it said that I'm more trusting and calm that others. Overall, I think these online quizzes were fun to take, even though some of them really weren't accurate.

College Letter
Dear mom,
College has been going alright so far. I love my dorm room and my roommate. We always have a great time studying together, and I don't know what I'd do without her! However, it really sucks because we don't always have the same classes. I don't understand why my friends have to keep leaving me alone when they know I hate it! What if something happened to me? What if she takes too long? I don't wanna be alone! If she stays out too long, how do I eat dinner? I don't know exactly how to cook with this kitchen.. And her dog, I don't know what to feed him! Other than that, my roommate, Alison, always helps me clean up the room and constantly reminds me about my homework. I don't know where I'd be in college if it wasn't for her. Last week was pretty horrible though. I was in my calculus class and for some reason, people seemed to be extremely annoyed of me. No one acted like they would wanna be my friend, but all I did was ask about how to do work. I wasn't sure if what I was doing was right, and I wanted to make sure so I wouldn't fail.. you understand right? And in English, some girl told me that I was doing something wrong, but I was pretty confident in what I was doing... Oh well, she's probably right anyway. Well, that's about it. I'll be sure to update you later if anything else happens, I have to go find where Alison is so she can help me with my homework. Love ya, talk to you again soon!

Analyzing Case Study
Case Study 4: Joanne, age 32, is involved with the first man that really counts in her life. As the couple has become more intimate, Joanne has started to have flashbacks about an uncle who touched her sexually when she was only eight years old. She is distressed to find out that she is shutting down feelings about her boyfriend and distancing herself from him. Although she has been sexual with other men, she says she can’t stand to let herself be sexual with someone she loves and trusts. She startles easily and reports a general increase in anxiety. She is very angry that she has to deal with the feelings about the incidents with her uncle that happened so long ago. She says that she thought she had gotten beyond all that.
I believe that Joanne is suffering from sexual aversion disorder because there's a disturbance that often causes her distress -- being sexual with her boyfriend. This began as a result of a psychological factor in her childhood, being sexually touched by her uncle. An effective way to treat Joanne's problem is to discuss her problem with a professional psychologist. Psychological treatment influencing the ideas and emotions of sexual contact should be used to gradually ease the problem. Because she experienced a traumatizing problem, the first thing she needs to do is discuss it with someone. By talking to someone about what she experienced in the past, her feelings of distress and anxiety will begin to decrease. These can also continue to be reduced using relaxation exercises and slowly accepting and dealing with the causes of the problem. Relation therapy could also be used between her and her boyfriend to renew intimacy and love in their relationship.

Birtney Spear's Bulimia Disorder

Britney Spears was a famous celebrity pop star many years ago. Being famous and a great singer, many young girls grew up listening to her music and viewing her as a role model. We all grew up believing that Britney Spears was a very succesful teen pop sensation, but no one knew she was suffering from bulimia ever since she was 16. This only began as result of low self-esteem and her urge to continue to look thin. A few years later, the divorce with Kevin Federline also caused Spears to go into rehab for alcohol abuse. During this time, she continued making herself vomit after binge eating in the rehab center. She also suffered from a bipolar disorder, being treated with bipolar pills; however, the pills never stayed in her system because she kept throwing up.
Growing up as a popstar, Britney's bulimia often interrupted her performances on stage. After having her two children, many people continued to call her "fat", leading to the continuation of bulimia in hope to appear thin. This long-term struggle with bulimia caused her to suffer from other various disorders -- including bipolar disorder and her alcohol-abuse. These all contributed to the short break from singing on performing on stage. Because she constantly vomited up her food, the energy her body needed to properly function were missing. This often led to dehydration and hypokalemia which did not contribute to her success in music and hectic, energetic performances on stage. After nine years, Britney Spears is finally being treated for this disorder, and hopefully this will result in the continuation of her music career.
I believe that bulimia isn't touched on as much as several other psychological disorders. This is because not many people know when someone is suffering from bulimia. Bulimia can actually lead to cardiac arrest and death if it isn't dealt with. I think that our society needs to focus more of their attention on this disorder.
